In the eternal city of Kashi, where every breath resonates with moksha, the divine presence of Shri Kaal Bhairav stands as the supreme guardian—Kotwal of Kashi. Fierce yet compassionate, Kaal Bhairav is not merely a deity but the cosmic protector who governs time (kaal), karma, and the righteous order of this sacred land.

According to the revered Shiv Puran Kashi Khand, Lord Shiva manifested Kaal Bhairav to uphold dharma and protect Kashi from negative forces. It is clearly described that no soul can reside in Kashi or attain liberation without the Anumati (permission) of Kaal Bhairav. He is the divine Kotwal who records the deeds of every People and grants the path toward moksha accordingly.

The sacred temple of Kaal Bhairav in Kashi is not just a place of worship—it is a spiritual court where devotees surrender their ego and seek protection from unseen problems, black magic, and karmic obstacles. Offering prayers, oil, black sesame, and lighting lamps here is believed to remove fear, enemies, and planetary afflictions.

Sanatan tradition holds that even Lord Shiva entrusted Kaal Bhairav with the guardianship of this divine city. Thus, every yatra to Kashi remains incomplete without his darshan.

To bow before Kaal Bhairav is to surrender to time itself—where fear dissolves, karma purifies, and the soul moves one step closer to ultimate liberation.
